Where a Coffs Coast house actually lives. Hardwood decks, screens, pergolas, and the awkward level changes that connect a house to its yard.

A deck is a structure, not a platform

Bearer spans, post fixings, footing depth and the connection back to the house decide whether a deck is still solid in fifteen years. On the coast the fixings matter as much as the timber. We build them as structures and we size them properly.

The level change is the whole job

Most Coffs Coast blocks fall away from the house. Getting from a floor level down to a lawn without a run of ugly steps is a design problem more than a carpentry one, and it is usually where a deck either works or doesn’t.

Small jobs are welcome

We started as carpenters and we still like the six-week jobs. Worth knowing: the award-winning house at Emerald Beach began as a call about a dodgy top deck. That went well enough that the owners handed us the whole build.

Do you take on small jobs?

We started as carpenters and we still enjoy the smaller work — decks, staircases, a laundry, a floor. If it’s a good job with good people we’ll look at it. If we’re not the right fit we’ll tell you and point you somewhere useful.

How do you price a job?

We come and look at it first, always. From there you get a written, itemised quote that separates the build cost from provisional sums and prime cost items, so you can see exactly what is fixed and what still needs a decision from you. No lump-sum guesswork.

What areas do you service?

The Coffs Coast — Coffs Harbour, Emerald Beach, Sandy Beach, Woolgoolga, Sapphire Beach, Moonee Beach, Korora, Sawtell, Boambee, Bonville, Corindi Beach, Red Rock, Safety Beach and Mullaway. We’re based at Emerald Beach, so the northern beaches are home ground. Further afield, ask us.
