Why Tallowwood
Small crew.
Very few jobs at once.
We don’t run six sites and hope. Tallowwood takes on a handful of builds a year so that the person who quoted your job is the person on it — and so the trades we bring with us are the same ones every time.
That’s the whole model. It’s slower to grow, and it’s the reason our first build as a licensed builder walked away from the 2025 HIA Northern NSW awards with Renovation/Addition Project of the Year.

We started as carpenters and became builders, so the trade work and the project management come from the same place. Six things we do most — each one has its own page.
We met with several builders, but no one was willing to take on a house with its bad bones and myriad of potential challenges… We were so happy with his execution, communication and work ethic that we knew he was the right choice to take on the whole build — and he definitely was.

We come and look at the place, listen to what you want, and say honestly whether it’s a job for us.
Written quote
An itemised quote that separates fixed cost from provisional sums, so you can see what’s still open.
Contract & programme
A proper building contract, insurances in place, and a realistic programme with the stages mapped out.
On site
Steve on the tools, our regular trades, and a message when something needs a decision — before it’s a problem.
Handover
We walk it with you, fix the small stuff, and stand behind the work after the truck leaves.
